McLean Psychiatry & Wellness provides psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and mental health treatment exclusively via telehealth to residents of Virginia. Services are provided by Ashly McLean, PMHNP-BC, a licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. We treat teens (13+) and adults.
This website and our telehealth services are not intended for medical or psychiatric emergencies. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, having thoughts of harming yourself or others, or facing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately, go to your nearest emergency room, or call/text the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Our office does not provide 24/7 crisis coverage.
Due to state licensing regulations, our services are available only to individuals physically located in Virginia at the time of their telehealth appointment. It is your responsibility to confirm you are located in Virginia when receiving services. Patients under 18 must have parental or legal guardian consent to receive treatment.
Appointments are scheduled through Headway or directly with our office. We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
Insurance benefits are managed through Headway for in-network plans (Aetna, Cigna, Anthem BCBS, United Healthcare, CareFirst, and Tricare). Coverage is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan; you are responsible for any co-pays, deductibles, or costs not covered by your insurance. United Healthcare and Tricare patients must contact our office prior to scheduling to confirm coverage. Self-pay rates are available for patients without applicable insurance coverage.
Prescribing decisions, including for controlled substances (such as certain ADHD medications), are made at the sole clinical discretion of the prescribing provider and in accordance with state and federal law. Certain controlled substances may require an initial in-person evaluation per DEA telehealth regulations, and prescriptions are not guaranteed for any patient or condition.
